agye in dijon: innovation for livestock farmers

This archived company profile describes AGYE’s development and the activities reported at the time of the original article. Historical figures and roles are retained in that context; see the current team page for today’s organisation.

Automate, monitor and optimise

Founded in 2020 by Latifa Ben Ghezala, AGYE developed in Burgundy as a supplier of automated feeding and animal monitoring solutions. The original article describes equipment from Nedap in the Netherlands and Förster-Technik in Germany, distributed through more than 200 sales outlets in France at that time.

RFID identification connects an animal to an individual feeding allowance. Electronic ear tags are read by the equipment, allowing quantities and feeding frequency to be adapted to the animal’s stage of growth and requirements.

The article quotes Latifa Ben Ghezala explaining that milk portions are prepared for each calf as needed, with the aim of limiting waste and supporting growth.

Monitoring individual animals

AGYE also supplies monitoring systems that collect information about animal behaviour. Depending on the equipment, applications include heat detection, investigation of behavioural changes and individual monitoring of dairy or suckler cows.

The original profile states that nearly 20% of French farms were using this type of technology; that is an archived figure, not a newly verified measure of adoption.

The company’s development

The article recounts how the disappearance of an official Nedap distributor in France created an opportunity for Latifa Ben Ghezala, previously an accountant in construction, to establish the business. It describes her learning the technical sector, training teams and taking part in agricultural shows.

The profile reports turnover of €2 million in 2021, with half from new equipment sales and installations and the other half from after-sales support, maintenance and spare parts.
