Velos and Nedap NOW.
The differences at a glance.
Here, the classic version means CowControl used with the Velos interface. Available functions depend on the version, sensors and installed licences.

Nedap reserves this new function for NOW. It brings together eating, rumination and transition indicators to compare groups, periods or calving cohorts.

Heat Score and Health Score: prioritise checks
Heat Score summarises heat intensity on a scale from 1 to 5. Health Score helps prioritise animals for observation and follow changes in the signal.
Fertility Insights: deepen reproductive monitoring
Highlight cows that have not resumed cycling or show reproductive signals requiring checking.
Herd Eating Patterns: analyse feeding rhythms
View changes in herd feeding behaviour and share them with an authorised adviser.
Heat Stress: follow group-level heat stress
Review the intensity and duration of heat stress signals to guide observations and actions in the building.
Pen Accuracy: identify cows in the wrong group
This function uses SmartSort Neck ID and sorting information. It requires compatible equipment.
SmartTag Ear: Nedap NOW is required to use this sensor. Ear tags and Neck collars can coexist in the herd. SmartTag Ear does not include electronic EID identification.

Must all sensors be replaced?
Moving to NOW depends on the existing installation. AGYE checks compatible hardware and versions before proposing an upgrade.
What happens if the internet connection fails?
Nedap provides local fallback operation for compatible essential functions. Remote access, synchronisation and cloud functions require a connection. Check fallback possibilities for your installation.
Does NOW replace my herd management software?
It complements the existing management system and can exchange data with compatible software. Interfaces are validated during the assessment.
